My website content covers various interests, but I have one page for my child who was born with a cleft. Is that okay?
That all depends on the other content of which you're speaking. Websites containing, even remotely offensive content will not be allowed. If you own and manage a website, then we can only assume that you are of sound body and mind. Therefore, we shouldn't have to go into specifics to what constitutes "offensive."
While MiCleft and it's Administrative Coordinators periodically 'check' webring sites for accurate display of the navigation panel, they do not regularly moderate website content. However, if MiCleft receives complaints in regard to your site's content, your membership will be placed on 'probation' status. If we find validicty in the complaint, (long-time member or new) you will be asked to refrain from publishing such content or remove your site from the ring. This 'disabled' site will not be allowed re-entry until the issue has been resolved.
Can I put the webring panel anywhere I want?
Yes and No. While we definitely prefer it on your index/main page, that's not required. What you are required to do is specify 'where or which page' on your site displays the panel. We also require notification in the event that you have changed the panel's location, so that we can update the ring (and your panel code) accordingly. If you fail to notify us of display changes, it could cause errors, or worse - it could cause the ring to fail completely. (Otherwise known as webring link-break.) The concept of a webring is that it offers smooth navigation through a circle of content-specific sites. The last thing ring members want, is for the visitor to be 'lost in the shuffle' (and possibly leave the ring) on account of your panel not being where it's supposed to be. It may sound harsh, but 'break the link' and other members may 'break' your legs! (Just kidding. But you get the point?)
Is there a limit on how many sites I have in the ring?
Absolutely not. As long as they are within the aforementioned guidelines, the "More The Merrier!"
Oh no! I really want to be a member but I don't know .php or .html coding!
Calm down...We've taken into consideration that everyone has different 'comfort zones.' You're not expected to write or edit (We actually prefer you not edit the code unless you REALLY know what you're doing.) any type of code language. Becoming a member AND placing the panel on your site is a very simple process. The MiCleft - Strength in Smiles Webring panel is at the top of this page. Click 'Join' (apply for your site membership) and then copy/paste the pre-formatted code onto your website. You'll receive an email with information that caters around your membership and website but it's for informational purposes only. If, at that time, you need further assistance...PLEASE feel free to ask for help by submitting the completed "Contact Us" link at the top of this page.
Remember - MiCleft.org is a BRAND NEW on-line network.
'Strength in Smiles' members are eager to have more sites in the ring!
